Artist's Comments

this is a former racehorse - he would have been put to death at the end of his career had a friend not intervened. now he lives a wonderful life full of freedom and affection.

i love a happy ending.

Fantastic, the crop really suits.

What was it like working with animals? Did you pose it, or just follow it for a while?

While it suits the story the way the horse is standing I would have preferred to it face on.

The flick in the tail really suits the background, speaking of the background I love it. I'd like to have access to something like that. The grungy look is something I really look for when I'm out. Did you plan it or was it a happy coincidence?

As much as I would also love to see the face of this great animal.... the picture totally goes with the story.... the dejected look.... but look at the muscle in the hind quarter.... what a beautiful creature.... the softness of it all adds to that 'sad ish look' ... as always great shot :)
